GRIFFIN
"YOU DIDN'T NEED A WEAPON AT ALL WHEN YOU WERE BORN ONE."

Griffin is the son of a Demon, and the only son who inhereted his father's powers. As such, he was chosen to be the families new heir and continue on with his father's business. The family business of being an assassin.

From early childhood, Griffin was groomed into becoming a killing machine. His father would battle with him daily, every conversation was a trap, and every back turned got stabbed. He learned to never trust anyone, to always cut first. Every person in his life was put there test his limits. Griffin hated every second of the abuse. There was a half of him he couldn't control, a half that turns into a massive monster and tears its way through the world. His father was perfectly capable of controlling his demonic side, and Griffin was pushed over and over again to try and make him into a monster.

When Griffin was an adult, he ran away from home. The first time they loosened their leash on him he ran. But He knew that his family would be in pursuit of him for the rest of his life. He wore dark clothes and face coverings to hide the scars from his childhood, and began hiding in the shadows to keep out of his father's line of sight. Though he still wasn't free of his problems, he was free from the life he had, at least for a while. It was difficult for him to find a purpose for himself beyong the violence he was raised in.

Eventually, Griffin heard of the Prey Hunter's guild, and the competition they held to become a member. He entered, hopeful that maybe there could be a purpose to his skills beyong killing. During the competition he met Aurora and Jude, as the younger members of the competition. The two's kindness rubbed off on him well, and he began caring for the first people he's ever cared for. Their alliance is ultimately what allowed all three of them to pass the exam and become guild members.

During the competition, Griffin and Aurora made a promise to Jude that they would help him find a rare flower he was looking for, for a medicine to save his partner. The flower only grew in the heart of the Nakuji forest. Once the competition completed, the three traveled back to Jude's home to train and prepare themselves for entering the hell pit.

NYM
"THERE IS PEACEFUL. THERE IS WILD. I AM BOTH AT THE SAME TIME."

Nym was born Griffin's identical twin, though through some birth difficulties, was born blind and much more frail than her brother. As such, even though she was born with her father's demonic power as well, she was discarded as an heir and treated poorly by their cruel parents. Nym and Griffin used to be extremely close as children, until Griffin started protecting Nym from their parents. Their mother, a magic user, sealed away Griffin's memories of Nym, making him forget he ever had a sister, and locked Nym away in a dungeon where she couldn't remind Griffin she existed.

As the two grew older, Nym lived her life in the dark. She was never given an education, and rarely spoke with another person. When she did escape her parents would make the prison harsher, attaching heavy weights to her to keep her from moving. Unlike Griffin, Nym had full control over her demonic half, and was able to seemlessly change between the two. Her parents took a grindstone to her horns, and docked the sharp edge off the end of her tail. Despite everything, Nym didn't give up hope on one day escaping and reuniting with her twin. She found ways to sneak through her parent's mansion unnoticed, and managed to hone her own powers and strength down in the dark, unsupervised.

After Aurora, Griffin, and Jude return from Nikuji victoriously, Nym's parents make their move, revealing they were still watching Griffin this entire time. They kidnap him away in the middle of the night, back to his home. Nym tries to warn Aurora, but is too late. As Aurora and Jude desperately chase after Griffin, Nym tries to find a way out of the dungeon to help them. She managed to send messages to the two of them, but only manages to escape once her mother mistakenly puts Aurora in the same dungeon as Nym. The two work together to escape the dungeon and confront their parents, only to find the reason Griffin forgot about Nym, as well as how he was still there, was that their mother was controlling his mind. Nym and Griffin are forced to fight each other in demon forms while Aurora desperately tries to free Griffin of their parents control. When their mother is finally incapacitated, Griffin's mind is freed, and he regains full control over himself even as a demon.

Griffin and their father fight to the death, since Nym has been weakened too much from sitting in a dungeon her whole life. It is only after he manages to slay his father that the twins finally get to reunite, their memories and sense of self restored.
